The Casa D'Abruzzo Italian Folk Choir celebrate 20 years, with both male and female voices, we bring to life our rich traditional songs through heartfelt vocal harmonies. Accompanied by our talented Piano Accordionist and accomplished Maestro, we showcase both traditional and contemporary folk songs, regional dialects and authentic arrangements.
Community choir
The regional choir of the Casa D'Abruzzo Club in Epping, keeping the song tradition of Italy's Abruzzo region alive in Melbourne.
The club itself was formed in 1975 when the Francesco Paolo Michetti Club, the Abruzzo e Molise Club and the Sulmona Marane Social Club amalgamated, joined a year later by the Peninsula Social Club; its Aquila Hall clubhouse and bocce courts were opened by the Italian Ambassador in 1982. Alongside bocce, the choir is one of the club's longest-standing cultural pillars.
The choir performs regularly at club events such as the Serata Abruzzese, and has appeared at the Festa both on the main stage as part of the CO.AS.IT. programme and as a roving act through the crowd.
