Rebecca Gulinello is an Italian-Australian soprano from Melbourne, and a dual citizen of both countries.
She took a Bachelor of Music Performance with Honours at the Melbourne Conservatorium, held the Amelia Joscelyne Scholarship with the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust, and studied in Italy in 2014 on scholarship from the Acclaim Awards and the Rotary Clubs of Melbourne and Cheltenham, before completing her Graduate Artist Diploma and Masters at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.
A finalist in both the Herald Sun Aria and the IFAC Australian Singing Competition in 2015, she went on to win the Giargiari Bel Canto Competition at the Kimmel Centre in Philadelphia, take out a Metropolitan Opera National Council district, and win the 2023 Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Award together with the Audience Choice Prize.
As a Young Artist with Opera Australia she made her company debut as Micaëla in Carmen on Cockatoo Island and her Sydney Opera House debut as Mimì in La Bohème. Her roles also include Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera, the Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos, Papagena in The Magic Flute, Tamara in The Demon and Anna in Le Villi, and she has sung with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
In June 2024 she won a scholarship to the Georg Solti Accademia and relocated to her parents' homeland to launch her European career.
